Halab publishes two kinds of writing, and they follow different rules. Please read this before assuming which one you are looking at.

Stories — fiction

Everything in the Stories section is invented.

• Characters, names, companies and places are created by our writers.
• Any resemblance to real people, living or dead, is coincidence.
• These pieces are written for entertainment. They are not reporting.

Survival — factual accounts

Everything in the Survival section describes real incidents involving real people.

• Names, dates and places are used as they appear in published sources.
• Some of the people in these accounts did not survive. We write about them plainly and without sensationalism, out of respect for them and for the families they left behind.
• Where a detail could not be confirmed, we say so rather than guess.
• Photographs are never taken from the incidents themselves. Any image accompanying a Survival article is AI-generated and captioned as such.
